People have been drinking white pine needle tea in many parts of the world for ages, not only for respiratory tract ailments such as coughs, colds, sore throats, chest congestion, or bronchitis, but also for digestive or other issues.
Product Notes:
In addition to its antioxidant, decongestant, and expectorant properties, pine tea is also high in vitamins C and A, which can help with eyesight, immunity, red cell production, fatigue ... and, of course, scurvy!
Ingredients:
Wild White Pine Needle Tips: Raw, Non-GMO, air-dried Pinus strobus (known variously as Nothern or Eastern White Pine) needles hand picked and ethically wildcrafted from Ontario.
Suggested Usage:
To preserve the active components, do infuse these pine needles in boiling water: the water should only be between 80 and 85 C (175 - 185 F). Let it steep for at least five minutes, or as much as ten. (If only five, you can reuse those needles one more time for a second infusion.)
It's best to drink it as-is, but it can also be sweetened with maple syrup or a mild honey, if need be.
Warnings:
Note: Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to avoid spruce and pine tea.
