PL8 Professional Spiralizer

If you only want to make long continuous spiral-shaped or julienne cuts of vegetables occasionally or in quite limited quantities, there are a number of smaller or less versatile devices available to you, including here at Aviva. But if you want to do that often, and very effectively, efficiently, and nearly effortlessly, this fairly large* Professional Spiralizer by Progressive International is likely the best option for slicing as many beautiful spirals or ribbons of a wide variety of vegetables as you fancy.

Product Notes:

The Professional Spiralizer is about 10 inches wide, including the handle, and about 5 inches across, on one end, and over 6 inches high. It can accommodate fruits or vegetables up to 5 inches long (you can cut them into sections if they are longer), and up to 7 inches in diameter.

Parts:

The diagram in the final photo is numbered to correspond to the following parts of the Professional Spiralizer: 1) Spiral Crank; 2) Prongs; 3) Centering Tube; 4) Blade Carousel Lock; 5) Blade Carousel Button; 6) Blade Carousel; 7) Silicone Hand Grip; 8) Non-skid Feet; 9) Folding Legs; 10) Slicing Blade; 11) Blade Cover Door.

Suggested Usage:

Simply dial in the type of cut you want to make; prep the item to be sliced by cutting both ends with a knife to be a flat surface; fit one end over the centering tube, and pull the spiral crank up to the other end so that its prongs bite into it; then turn the crank. It can be used either on a counter or cutting board, propped up on one end by its non-slip silicone-wrapped stainless steel legs (which fold in for storage); or you can hold it over a bowl by its silicone grip handle (as shown at the bottom left of the 6-panel photo).

There are 3 spiral options / settings for its adjustable rotating blade -- thick or thin julienne, and thin ribbon -- which are set by sliding, pressing and rotating the big Blade Carousel Button up top (#5 in the diagram above, and shown in the close-up next to it). Safety door shields blades during use and enables safe, easy cleaning, and there are no loose parts. Dishwasher safe.
