Product Notes:

Vitex Tree

Vitex Tree

The berry commonly and misleadingly known as the "chaste tree berry" was given its name for the popular belief of monks and other ascetically minded religious that the fruit would help ward off lust and "impure" desires.

The science behind this belief is debatable, but what is not debatable is the traditional and modern use of this berry - also known as vitex - for the treatment of women's issues, including PMS, menstrual cycle regulation, fertility problems, uterine bleeding, and breast tenderness.

Though scientists have not yet fully explained how it works, Vitex seems to affect progesterone production through its effects on the pituitary gland, and this in turn can be helpful in dealing with irregularities in menstrual cycles, as well as a variety of symptoms of PMS.

Indeed, in one study organized around four predominant symptoms of PMS (depression, anxiety, cravings, and hyperhydration), 93% of participants reported improvement in symptoms after treatment with Vitex.
