Product Notes:
Goldenseal, a perennial herb in the buttercup family native to North America, is often used in herbal medicine for the treatment of upper respiratory issues. It contains berberine, which has antibacterial properties.
"Echinacea" may sound like something concocted in a lab, but it's not. It's quintessentially natural -- a wildflower, which grows in North America. Native Americans used different forms of it as a natural remedy for many types of infections, both internally (especially for colds and flus), topically (as an ointment for bites, burns, and poorly healing wounds), and in-between (to treat upper respiratory tract ailments or to soothe sore throats or tonsils with a medicinal steam, by pouring Echinacea tea over hot coals). Today, it's widely used in many regions as a supportive therapy to help relieve the symptoms and shorten the duration of upper respiratory tract infections. Some studies found it can greatly reduce the chance of getting a cold, and others indicate it can reduce a cold's duration by over a day.
