New! "The miracle of life" can be painfully elusive for many couples since so many things can go wrong even when both parties seem relatively healthy, and rather complex medical diagnoses and interventions may be required. In many cases, though, it may be largely due to low sperm counts and/or low quality sperm (bad swimmers!). Fortunately, that obstacle is something we can do something about on our own, with a blend of targeted nutrients like this to promote healthy sperm motility, production, and overall vitality.

If you and your partner have been trying to conceive for at least a year, or if you've already had a sperm analysis done and are considered to be a subfertile man with oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia (OAT), you're likely well aware that fully half of infertility cases have to do with the man's contributions (or lack thereof), either primarily [30%] or partially [20%].
Of course, sometimes it may be primarily due to the man's lifestyle issues which can be addressed directly as the first step, such as by avoiding both drugs (incl. tobacco) and alcohol and prolonged heat in the groin area (whether from saunas or hot tubs or even cell phones in the front pocket). (Be advised, though, that this won't be an instant fix: although men create sperm daily, it can take nearly three months for the new sperm to fully mature and wend their way through the testes to finally appear in the ejaculate.)
And sometimes this may be due to either sperm transportation issues (such as obstruction of the vas deferens) or very low sperm production issues (which can have a myriad of causes) which likely require medical assessments and interventions rather than supplements, to fix.
But often, it's mainly due to either the lower quality of the man's sperm (particularly their motility: do most of them swim forward as they're supposed to, or do they just 'tread water' or twitch back and forth), or their low quantity (i.e., count). Sometimes that may be due to overheating caused by varicocele – the scrotal version of vericose veins, but more often it might be due to the oxidative stress produced by both dietary and environmental factors. (Indications are average male sperm counts may have declined by over 1% globally from 1973 to 1999, and by 2.64% per year since 2020!)
Thankfully, scientific studies show certain nutrients can help with these two areas, usually most likely due to their antioxidant properties protecting the all-important mitochondria which power the sperm cells, and sometimes by reducing inflammation.
Prairie Naturals Fertility Pro is a combination of five such nutrients which have all been shown to positively influence sperm concentration and/or motility: two minerals (selenium and zinc), two 'vitamin-like substances' (L-Carnitine and CoQ10), and one medicinal plant (Mucuna).
The latter (formally known as Mucuna pruriens, and also referred to as velvet bean, monkey tamarind, cowhage, kuanch, and Kapikacchu or Kapikachhu) is a tropical vine that produces pods containing numerous seeds (i.e., legumes, which look like fat pea pods from the outside). These seeds are an excellent source of the amino acid levodopa (L-dopa), which also functions as the precursor to the neurotransmitter dopamine in our brains, which can affect mood, alertness, sleep, memory, as well as sexual and muscle functions. Velvet bean has rich antioxidant benefits and is not only used in Ayurvedic medicine as nutritional support for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, but some have also found to be quite helpful in matters of sexual health, both as an aphrodisiac for increasing libido (in both men and women) and also for improving both sperm count and motility.
Similarly, L-Carnitine, an amino acid that we do produce in our own bodies and is also present in many foods, also plays a strong antioxidant role in counteracting the excessive production of reactive oxygen species in the testes, plus it also helps increases energy at the cellular level (by carrying fatty acids into the mitochondria), and studies show supplementing with 2 grams of it per day like this for 3 to 6 months can improve sperm motility, concentration, morphology [shape], and count.
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is another powerful antioxidant that we an both produce ourselves and get from foods yet may benefit from supplementation of. It, too, protects cells from damage and also helps our mitochondria generate energy.
Zinc is a vital trace mineral that not only supports immune health in general, but it's also essential for sperm production and fertility, in various ways, including: being instrumental in meiosis during spermatogenesis (separating the male from the female chromosomes during cell division); affecting the fluidity of the lipids enveloping the sperm chromatin (the condensed DNA) within the sperm cell; and interacting with protective enzymatic antioxidants like superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) which can improve sperm motility. So, no wonder zinc in normally found in higher concentrations in human sperm than in our blood plasma!
And Selenium plays a crucial role in male fertility as a key component of selenoproteins such as glutathione peroxidase enzymes, which help regulate sperm production, development, and function and help protect sperm cells from oxidative stress.
Related products: in addition to the L-Carnitine and CoQ10 you'll find in this formulation, some prominent fertility experts also recommend that men with fertility issues take Vitamin C, and if you are going to take high doses of L-Carnitine over a fairly long term, the Stanford neuroscientist Andrew Huberman (who is featured in the videos) advises that one also take a garlic supplement like Allimax for its Allicin content to nullify the cardiovascular risks of the TMAO (trimethylamine-N-oxide) it gets metabolized into.
