Product Notes:

If you're frequently experiencing digestive disturbances such as stomach aches, bloating, gas, or constipation, there can be a number of reasons, but it's often simply a matter of aging and/or having a less varied diet than we used to, wherein our pancreas slows down its production of digestive enzymes and we don't have as much diversity in the makeup of the beneficial bacteria in our GI tract which help break down and absorb nutrients.

To help rectify that, this Silver Lining formula supplies:

  • four types of digestive enzymes (Alpha-Amylase, Cellulase, Lipase, and Protease), to help break down the different aspects of the foods we eat (starches, cellulose, fats, and protein, respectively); along with,
  • four types of pro-biotics (the "good" bacteria in the gut, which can benefit digestive, cardiovascular and overall health, especially by improving occasional gastrointestinal disorders), totaling over 50 billion live units per capsule between them, to help recolonize your gut flora with some definitely beneficial types and displace some types that might have become overabundant; plus,
  • a pre-biotic, meaning something to serve as a food source for those probiotics to ensure their survival not only in the capsules before you consume them, but also to help stimulate their growth as they take root in our intestines. More and more companies are beginning to do this to enable the probiotics to survive for up to two years after manufacture (and live up to their label claims) even without refrigeration, but they usually use an indigestible insoluble fibre that might itself cause a bit of digestive upset, while Silver Lining uses a bit of whey protein for that purpose, which is beneficial for building muscle, in its own right.
