Product Notes:

This video demonstrates a similar but
slightly different oximeter model from Yongrow.

Pulse oximeters are often used by emergency rooms, hospitals, and clinics to assess respiratory problems such as asthma, emphysema, or chronic obstructive pulmonary or airway diseases (COPD or COAD).

Oximeters available for home use like this use noninvasive technology (light waves which pass through fingers - no needles!), whether to continue to monitor such conditions, or for those with specialized vocations such as pilots or mountain climbers to carry out high altitude training or to check for hypoxia.

The Yongrow Fingertip Pulse Oximeter is easy to use, works with ordinary penlight batteries, and can give accurate readings in just a few seconds. With a simple touch of the buttons, you can turn it on and cycle between your preferred display arrangement and orientation to show your current pulse rate and SpO2 level (so you can see it best from various angles, depending on your position and which finger you have in it). If either reading is outside the normal safety range, it has an alarm mode – both visual and auditory.

This oximeter model comes with a carrying case, as shown, and also with a lanyard and a carrying cord, which can either be attached to the carrying case or attached to the device itself, to be hung around your neck or to slip over your wrist.

Please note, several factors can interfere with the device's ability to accurately detect your pulse and the concentration of oxygen in your blood via the two wavelengths of light it attempts to pass through the fingertip you insert: if your finger is wet; or if the fingernail is too long; or if the fingernail is too bright or has too much nail polish/colour/art or even just lacquer on it, for example.

If it does not work properly with one finger (either giving no readings, or much different readings than expected, try another, and if you do not want remove the nail polish from your finger, you can use it on a toe, instead (although the readings may be about 2% lower since they are farther away from your heart than your fingers are).
