Product Notes:
These ThinkSport and ThinkBaby products all have a low hazard rating of either 1 (for the Everyday SPF30) or 2 on EWG's Skin Deep Cosmetics Database (an independent website operated by the Environmental Working Group supporting information on chemical content of products for consumers so they can make healthier, smarter choices).
They're gentle on the skin, and users reports they don't sting the eyes. And rest assured, their ingredients are biodegradable, and safe for lakes, coral reefs or other marine ecosystems. Nor are they tested on animals. (Although they have been tested by dermatologists, of course, and by pediatricians, for the Kids and Baby versions.)
The three SPF50 types, all share the same base formula but differ mainly in their fruit fragrance (e.g., grapefruit, for the Baby version). They are each water resistant for up to 80 minutes, so you don't need to worry about the user getting burned while working up a sweat or cooling off in a wading pool, while in the sun.
Of course, zinc oxide is prone to leaving a white "cast" or residue, especially when it's first put on. While that may not be too noticeable for those with paler complexions, you can either blend some foundation into it just before you apply it, or select the Daily SPF 30 variety, which includes some natural tint in it which will complement many people's skin tones and may eliminate the need for makeup.
Of course, those with much darker skin may still see a white cast to begin with, but some reviewers report that will fade quite a bit after about five minutes, when it gets absorbed more fully, and at any rate, it dries very quickly and provides an excellent base layer for makeup application.

The Active ingredient in each type for providing the natural, safe, chemical-free, broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays is: Zinc Oxide (Non-nano): 20% for 3 types, and 23.4% for the Think Baby type
* (Please note, Think uses relatively larger sized particles of zinc oxide to ensure they stay on top of the skin to reflect the UV rays away, without being absorbed through the skin and into the blood stream.)

Think products use only non-GMO ingredients, and are free of biologically harmful or toxic chemicals (such as BPA, PABA, parabens, phthalates, oxybenzone, avobenzone, or petroleum). They also use recyclable, toxin-free packaging.
Suggested Usage:
For full protection, apply liberally (2 mg per square cm of skin) to all areas that will be exposed to sunlight - including behind the ears, neck and bald sports on the scalp - 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every two hours or more as needed.
These formulae are fairly thick (not runny), and apply very easily. Be advised: spreading it too thinly will decrease its effectiveness.
If you will be swimming or sweating heavily, use a water resistant sunscreen such as the Thinksport SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion, which is water resistant for up to 80 minutes.
Reapply zinc oxide sunscreen lotions at least every 2 hours if your skin is exposed during the daytime - or immediately after washing, swimming or sweating, and immediately after towel drying, or reapply to the lips right after eating or drinking.

Sun Safety Tips: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease these risks, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and practice other sun protection measures including:
- limiting time in the sun, especially from 10am - 2pm;
- wearing long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.
