While some bug bite or anti-itch treatments only contain a single active ingredient and many creams include potentially dangerous preservatives such as parabens, Zax's Original (a natural health family business based in Ontario) worked with a pharmacist to develop a well-balanced formula featuring not only several of the most effective natural anti-itch ingredients but also ones with soothing, pain-relieving, and anti-inflammatory properties, as well.
These include:
* Colloidal Oatmeal, an anti-irritant which relieves itching and swelling, and also binds to the skin to form a protective barrier.
* Tea Tree Oil, an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent which can help reduce itching, swelling and redness and neutralize the effect of insect bites and stings.
* Witch Hazel, an astringent which can help reduce the inflammation and soothe the irritation and burning associated with itching and bug bites, and speed the skin's healing.
* Menthol (which can be derived from peppermint oil), a local anesthetic with counterirritant qualities: it helps stop itching by producing a slight cooling sensation, to shift the focus.

Suggested Usage:
