If someone has arthritic or missing fingers, limited dexterity, or a bad back, it can be difficult to use shoelaces. Or maybe you or someone you know is just weary of the laces getting loose too often, or being too difficult to unknot if double tied. Zubits has a great workaround for such problems, with these magnetic lacing clips which get installed in-between the top three sets of eyelets to basically transform the shoes into tight-fitting slip-ons with no superfluous laces showing.

Although several steps are required to install them the first time (which admittedly might require someone's assistance if you're too arthritic or lack the manual dexterity for some other reason), once they're 'dialed in', Zubits lace clips are very easy to use: you just step in like they're a slipper, and then push the two halves of the clip together until their built-in magnets bind together. And to take them off, you can either twist the clips to separate them, or even do it hands-free: just step on the back of the heel with your other foot, and lift your foot up from the back to temporarily break the magnetic bond between the two halves of the clip, and pull your foot out.

Unlike some copy-cat models, the actual magnets are fully sealed within these clips, which are waterproof, and will never lose their strength, and can be used indefinitely.

Zubits makes several strengths (in terms of how hard it is to pry the magnets apart) or sizes of their clips. These ones are all type 2, which are rated both for most adults and for youth from age nine on. They're strong enough to stay clipped while walking, running, playing or other types of recreational use.
