Product Notes:
A great deal of available science indicates that one form of Vitamin K2 (MK-4, or Menatetrenone) maintains the health of the bones, which is why many take it to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and bone fractures – especially in women.
But another form, MK-7 (Menaquinone), is also being increasingly studied for its ability to activate an important bone protein at low doses – especially since it can do so in a sustained-release manner, and new, better-absorbed formulations of it have been developed.
Either way, both forms activate osteocalcin - a protein that helps bind calcium deposits drawn away from blood vessels and into the bones, which thus may also help combat atherosclerosis or arterial stiffness.
