Wormwood is a wild, woody shrub in the Daisy family. When it's used medicinally (rather than to make one of two bitter alcohols: vermouth or absinthe) as an herb, the main indication for it is as a vermifuge: to kill pinworms (also known as threadworms) or roundworms, which school-age children may be susceptible to (and who may then transmit them to other members of their household).

Wormwood's tops are also used for a number of digestive or gastrointestinal issues, including loss of appetite, indigestion, and as gastritis due to low acidity. It even has antiseptic properties (some have used topically, in poultices to treat skin diseases or ulcers on the skin).

Ingredients:
Per 1 ml: 200 mg Quantity Crude Equivalent (1:5) Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium, tops*).
Non-medicinal ingredients: grain alcohol, distilled water.
* These Wormwood tops are Certified Organically Grown.
Suggested Usage:
Take 3 to 4 times daily, in a little water, on an empty stomach. The dosage for each time varies by age group, as follows:
Very Young Children (age 2 to 4 years): 0.1 to 0.2 ml (2 to 6 drops).
Young Children (5 to 9 years): 0.1 to 0.3 ml (3 to 10 drops)
Adolescents (10-14 years): 0.3 to 0.6 ml (10-20 drops).
Adolescents & Adults (15 & over): 0.5 to 1.3 ml (15-40 drops).
Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 2 weeks. Store at room temperature.
Warnings:
Keep out of reach of children. Do not use St. Francis Wormwood tincture if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; if you have a seizure disorder (e.g. epilepsy); if you have gastric or duodenal ulcer; if you are allergic to plants of the Asteraceae/Compositae/Daisy family. Consult a health care practitioner before use if you have stomach hyperacidity, obstruction of bile duct, cholangitis; or before using with other medications, as there may be an adverse interaction. Hypersensitivity (e.g. allergy) is known to occur, in which case, discontinue use.
