Product Notes:

Vitamix Ascent Containers Canada

Featuring the new SELF-DETECT technology which enables the blender to recognize the size of the container placed upon it and automatically adjust the programmed settings for that size, the first four types of these containers are compatible with all (but only) the Vitamix A-Series Ascent blenders (including models A2300, A2500, A3300, and A3500).

The first three of these are for full size containers with either Wet blades (which pull the ingredients down towards the blades) or Dry ones (which push them up, to prevent clumping) built right into them, as indicated. The last of them is a Starter Kit for a pair of personal size cups to create individual servings, which also includes a blade assembly which will work either with these cups or with their 8 ounce bowls (which are not available here). Please note, these smaller cups will only work with this other, smaller type of blade base, which features the same type of laser-cut, hardened stainless blades as in the larger containers, but also has a threaded molding and a gasket to screw onto the cups you'll be blending with, to form a non-leaking seal. The blades in the full-size containers such as the 64 oz one the Ascents ship with cannot be attached to the smaller cups or bowls.

These initial containers are for use with Vitamix Ascent blenders only. A variety of other Vitamix containers are also available for the earlier S, C, and G Series blenders.

In addition, Vitamix has also developed two new types of 48 Ounce Containers which are now available here that are compatible not only with the Ascents, but also with all their full-size machines: a Stainless Steel container with Wet Blades, and a Tritan container with an Aer Disc (instead of a blade).

SELF-DETECTING: Vitamix Ascent Series blenders are engineered with new SELF-DETECT technology, so the machine knows precisely which container is placed on the base and adjusts the maximum time allocated to the blend settings accordingly. The machine will not power on until a container is properly seated on the motor base, and certain programs will be automatically disabled if the wrong container is used.

Spend more time enjoying your Vitamix-made meals and less time worrying about cleaning them up. You can either use the self-cleaning ability of every Vitamix container (just put in a drop of dishwasher soap and some warm water and put it on high for 30 seconds), or for tougher cleanup such as nut butters, all the new Ascent Series containers are dishwasher-safe!

Long-Lasting Blades: The laser-cut blades in all these containers are crafted from the same hardened stainless steel as in the earlier full-size Vitamix machines, delivering better blends and longer life.

Tampers: The 64 Oz container includes a tamper to help press thick and frozen mixtures toward the blades for faster, smoother blends. The 48 Oz containers come with a specially designed mini-tamper.

Containers and Lids: (BPA-free Eastman Tritan)

Made in the USA.

The new 48 ounce Stainless Steel* Container (which is equipped with a Wet blade) is compatible not only with all the Ascent models, but also the Explorian and their legacy blenders (both the C-series and the G-series). In addition to having a more sleek appearance and being more durable than the Tritan plastic ones (better able to withstand both extremes of temperature and accidental falls), these reportedly have many other virtues from a user's perspective, including: being quieter to operate; producing a better blend quality, whose end results are either hotter or colder (depending on ingredients you start with) than if prepared in regular containers; being less likely to drip from the spout when you cease pouring; and especially being easier to clean (they are Dishwasher Safe) and far less prone to staining or developing odours, no matter what you make. These comes with a 3-Year Warranty.

*(Apart from their see-through Lid and Plug, which are still made of Tritan plastic.)

Finally, if all you have is a hammer, everything gets nailed, as it were... or if all you have to blend with is blades, everything gets puréed, more or less. But what if you want to use your blender to produce some different textures, to leave some bits of the fruit intact when mixing cocktails for example, or when incorporating berries into whipped cream. And sometimes you may want to introduce air into the mix, to created foamed drinks; or to makes emulsified sauces such as Hollandaise. For those types of occasions, Vitamix has developed this new type of blade, the Aer disc (which is named after one of its principal functions, aerating), which spins like the blades but has a series of holes in the disc rather than knives, making it capable of four distinct operations: Muddling; Whipping; Foaming; and Emulsifying. Like the new stainless steel container, this new 48 ounce Aer Disc Container is actually compatible not only with all the Ascents but also the Explorian and the C-series and G-series Legacy blenders ... although of course it's made of the same Tritan material as the regular containers.
